Is this good so far? Chapter one of a story for school, also a potential start for a children's book.?

its actually pretty good! but, if its going to be a children's book, try not to use big words, like contemplated, or intricate, use childish words, something they can understand like um...instead of contemplated, you could use thought of, and for intricate, you could use hard, or complicated, but overall, its really good! :)
