Is the movie Bruno appropriate for a teenager?

okayy....i am 13 and my parents are being ridiculous. i just wanna know if anyone who has seen the movie thinks it is appropriate for me. i am going into 8th, & i know pretty much everything there is to know about....stuff lol....but if it is appropriate, how can i persuade my parents to take me? they are WAY overprotective....(my dad seriously just blocked everything rated r on our tv-not joking). but if u can help that would be AWESOMEE!! thx♥
